B.E.S.T. Mathematics Coaches' Resource Hub

The Florida Department of Education B.E.S.T. Mathematics Coaches are a statewide resource dedicated to advancing mathematics achievement through high-quality instructional support. Grounded in Florida’s Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards for Mathematics and Florida’s Formula for Success, they partner with districts, schools and educators to build instructional capacity and promote effective mathematics teaching practices.

The B.E.S.T. Mathematics Coaches’ Resource Hub provides easy access to materials and tools that support standards implementation, effective instruction and educator professional growth. Resources are organized by topic, including standards, instructional resources, assessment and data, intervention and tiered instruction, coaching tools and professional learning. Whether you are a classroom teacher, instructional coach, school leader or district administrator, this resource hub offers practical support to enhance mathematics teaching and learning across Florida.

Mathematics Coaching Support

The B.E.S.T. Mathematics Coaches are also available to support districts, schools and educators through:

  • In-person school visits
  • One-on-one Coaching
  • Support with B.E.S.T. Standards implementation
  • Partnerships with regional consortiums to provide additional support
  • Mathematics professional learning opportunities

Access Florida K-12 Mathematics Coaches' Resources

Coaching Impact

During the BSIS Summer 2026 Professional Learning Events, the B.E.S.T. Mathematics Coaching Team generated significant statewide interest in ongoing coaching and professional learning. At the conclusion of the conference, the team received:

  • 84 requests for additional information and coaching support.
  • 21 schools and districts that requested follow-up meetings to discuss targeted coaching partnerships.
  • Interest represents 44 school districts, charter systems and independent/private schools across Florida.

Growing Statewide Reach

  • Since December 1, 2025, 454 educators have requested to be added to the B.E.S.T. Mathematics Coaching contact list to receive resources, updates and future professional learning opportunities.

The most requested support includes instructional coaching, collaborative planning, instructional walk-throughs, benchmark-aligned planning, implementation of the B1G-M, effective use of assessment data and sustained professional learning.

  • Algebra 2 B1G-M and Algebra 2 Honors B.E.S.T. Instructional Guides (B1G-M)
    The Algebra 2 B1G-M and Algebra 2 Honors B1G-M documents are now available on our website: B.E.S.T. Mathematics Resources.
  • FACT: College Algebra B.E.S.T. Instructional Guide (B1G-M)
    The College System has distributed the B1G-M for FACT: College Algebra. We are currently waiting for it to be uploaded to the website and will share an update here once it is available.
    In the meantime, if you are teaching FACT: College Algebra, or someone in your school is teaching the course, and you have not receive received a copy of it, please reach out to BESTmath@fldoe.org.
