Certification Application Fee Schedule
The following nonrefundable application fees are authorized by the State Board of Education pursuant to Certification Rule 6A-4.0012.
- Initial Florida Certificate
If you are applying for initial Florida certification (i.e. you never held a Florida certificate, you hold Florida certification of another type, or your Florida certificate expired more than one year ago), the application fee is $75 per subject.
- Upgrading from a Temporary to a Professional Certificate (Educator or Speech Language Impaired Certification)
If you are applying for upgrade to a Professional certificate in one or more of the subjects on your Temporary certificate, and the Temporary certificate is currently valid or expired within the past year, the application fee is $75.
- Addition of a Subject
If you are applying for evaluation of eligibility in an additional subject or to add a subject (a coverage or endorsement) to a currently valid Temporary or Professional Certificate, the application fee is $75 per subject.
- Removal of a Subject
If you are applying to remove a subject (a coverage or endorsement) from a currently valid Temporary or Professional Certificate, the application fee is $20 per subject.
- Renewal of a Valid Professional Educator Certificate
If you are applying to renew a currently valid Professional Educator Certificate (with one subject or more than one subject), the application fee is $75.
- Late Renewal of a Professional Certificate
If your Professional Certificate expired within the past year, and you completed all of your renewal credits before the certificate expired, the total application fee is $105 ($75 basic renewal fee plus a $30 late application fee).
- Reinstatement of an Expired Professional Certificate
If you are applying to reinstate an expired Professional Educator Certificate, the application fee is $75 per subject.
- Athletic Coaching Certification
If you are applying for initial 3-year, upgrade to 5-year, or new 5-year Athletic Coaching Certification, the application fee is $75.
To complete the required fingerprint background screening, applicants may incur a fingerprint processing fee, applicable retention fees and/or additional costs assessed by individual school districts and livescan service providers. Employees of public or approved nonpublic schools must consult their employer.
