The recipient of the 2020 Assistant Principal of the Year will be awarded a cash prize of $2,500. State finalists will be awarded a check for $720, and each district winner will be awarded a check for $210.

Kate Fulginiti has spent five years as the assistant principal at Matthew W. Gilbert Middle School, and during this time, she helped the school increase their school grade from a D to a C. Ms. Fulginiti has worked diligently to create strong, positive relationships between students, staff and the community. In addition, Assistant Principal Fulginiti established a system of support for students and teachers from the elementary level through high school. This support system ensures the needs of students are met each and every year.
