External Data Resources

  • United States Census Bureau - Data.Census.Gov - platform to access demographic and economic data from the U.S. Census Bureau. The vision for this resource is to improve the customer experience by making data available from one centralized place so that data users spend less time searching for data and content and more time using it.
  • Stanford Center on Poverty and Equality - provides research reports, policy analysis, and trend data on issues of poverty and inequality.
  • Civil rights Data Collection - website for the U.S. Department of Education's Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC). The CRDC collects data from a sample of school districts on key education and civil rights issues in our nation's public schools, including student enrollment and educational programs and services, disaggregated by race/ethnicity, sex, limited English proficiency, and disability. The CRDC is a valuable source of information about access to educational opportunities in our nation's public schools used by the Department's Office for Civil Rights (OCR) and other Department offices and policymakers, researchers, and many others in the education community.
  • National Center for Education Statistics - The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) is the primary federal entity for collecting and analyzing data related to education in the U.S. and other nations. NCES is located within the U.S. Department of Education and the Institute of Education Sciences. NCES fulfills a Congressional mandate to collect, collate, analyze, and report complete statistics on the condition of American education; conduct and publish reports; and review and report on education activities internationally.
  • Education Data Portal School Districts Data - This district-level database contains data on school districts from the National Center for Education Statistics Common Core of Data (CCD) and the U.S. Census Small Area Income and Poverty Estimates (SAIPE). The CCD contains information on district characteristics, revenue, and spending, and SAIPE reports the number and share of children ages 5 to 17 in poverty in each school district.
  • The National Bureau of Economic Research - an organization dedicated to conducting economic research and to disseminating research findings among academics, public policymakers, and business professionals. NBER-affiliated researchers study a wide range of topics, and they employ many different methods in their work. Key focus areas include developing new statistical measurements, estimating quantitative models of economic behavior, and analyzing the effects of public policies.
  • Consolidated State Performance Report Resources - U.S. Department of Education Office of Elementary and Secondary Education (USED OESE) website for information and resources regarding the Consolidated State Performance Report (CSPR), the required reporting tool for of each State, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico as authorized under Section 9303 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended.

Internal Data Resources

  • Master School ID Database (MSID) - Florida's public directory of all public PK-12 schools in the state and adult and technical schools operated by district school boards.
  • PK-12 Education Information Services - serves to improve education by increasing the quality of decisions through the use of data. Functions and services include assisting school districts in reporting accurate information, providing information to customers to meet their needs, fulfilling DOE Information Database requirements, and reviewing and developing data collection procedures.
  • Bureau of PK-20 Education Reporting and Accessibility - responsible for PK-20 education reports, longitudinal education reports, federal and legislative reporting, and approved external research requests.
  • Florida PK-20 Education Information Portal - connects people with reports and statistical information about PK-12, college, career, and adult education and employment outcomes for Florida students, staff, and schools. The portal provides access to interactive reports that provide comprehensive and demographic information in various formats, including graphs, tables, maps, and custom reports based on your interests in education-related data. This portal aims to increase the advancement of Florida students and schools by providing access to information that will facilitate important decisions about education in Florida.
  • Know Your Schools - Florida interactive education reports, including Florida Report Cards and ESSA information for state, districts, and schools.
