Scholarship Funding Organizations (SFOs) are the non-profit organizations that issue scholarships and determine student eligibility for the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship (FTC), the Gardiner Scholarship, the Hope Scholarship, and the Reading Scholarship Programs. Any non-profit charitable organization, state university, or eligible independent college or university* may apply to be an SFO.
State universities and eligible independent colleges or universities are exempt from the initial or renewing application requirements, but must file a registration notice with the Department of Education in order to be an eligible SFO.
The application deadline for the 2022-23 school year is September 1, 2021. The 2023-24 application will be available July 1, 2022.

Please note: If you are the owner or operator of a private school participating in the state K-12 scholarship programs, you are not eligible to operate as an SFO. Participating private schools must submit the Scholarship Compliance Form which is accessed by logging in as a Private School Administrator.

*In order to be considered an eligible nonprofit scholarship-funding organization, an independent college or university must: be eligible to participate in the William L. Boyd, IV, Florida Resident Access Grant Program; be located and chartered in this state; be a not for profit entity; and, be accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
