Governor Rick Scott Appoints Marva Johnson to the State Board of Education
Tallahassee, Fla. - Today, Governor Rick Scott announced the appointment of Marva Johnson to the State Board of Education.Johnson, 44, of Winter Garden, is a corporate vice president for Bright House Networks LLC. She currently serves as a board member for Central Florida Partnership and Business Force Florida. Johnson received her bachelor's degree from Georgetown University, her master's degree from Emory University and her law degree from Georgia State University. She succeeds Barbara Feingold and is appointed for a term beginning March 26, 2014, and ending December 31, 2017.
Governor Scott said, "I am confident that Marva will be a committed servant to Florida students. I look forward to working with her and the entire Board of Education to further ensure that all Florida students can get a great education so they can pursue their dreams."
The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
