Race to the Top Student Growth Implementation Committee to Meet in Orlando
The Race to the Top Student Growth Implementation Committee will hold its first in-person meeting April 4-5, 2011, in Orlando. Consisting of teachers, principals, parents, teacher educators, business leaders and other education stakeholders, the committee was established to help inform the process of creating a value added student growth model for school districts to use as they develop new teacher and principal evaluation systems.Topics to be covered during this two-day meeting include:
- Overview of value-added models
- Discussion of the characteristics of the different types of models and student variables that may be included
- Direction from the Committee to the contractor, American Institutes of Research (AIR), on the types of models and variables to explore using Florida-specific data
