First Lady Ann Scott Begins Statewide Literacy Tour
~ First Lady will also kick off 6th annual "Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida!" ~Tallahassee, Fla., January 12, 2014 - First Lady Ann Scott will join state and local education leaders and students at American Senior High School in Miami and continue to Conniston Middle School in West Palm Beach. The visits will kick off her statewide literacy tour as a part of Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! This year's theme, "Reading Accelerates Success," connects the value of literacy with careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). As part of the week's festivities, thousands of volunteers will read to children in classrooms throughout the state.
