State and Local Officials Celebrate White Cane Safety Day
Tallahassee, FL, October 14, 2014 – Tomorrow, representatives from the Florida Departments of Transportation and Education will gather to promote White Cane Safety Day 2015, a nationally recognized celebration of the achievements of people who are blind or visually impaired.
Activities include a press event to celebrate the successes of Florida’s blind and visually impaired population and a host of exhibitor displays that support safety, mobility and accessibility.
Speakers include Kathy Hebda, Chief of Staff, Florida Department of Education; City Commissioner Curtis Richardson, City of Tallahassee; Captain Nancy Rasmussen, Florida Highway Patrol and others.
There will be opportunities for interviews and photos following the press event.
