Florida Department of Education to Name Principal of the Year and Assistant Principal of the Year
Tallahassee, Fla., February 20, 2015 – On Monday, the Florida Department of Education will name the recipients of the 2015 Principal Achievement Award for Outstanding Leadership (Principal of the Year) and the Outstanding Assistant Principal Achievement Award (Assistant Principal of the Year). The awards recognize principals and assistant principals for their exceptional contributions to their schools and communities.
The three finalists for Principal of the Year are:
- Peter James McCabe, Clay High School, Clay County School District
- Dr. Angela Murphy-Osborne, Palmetto Elementary School, Orange County School District
- Michael Thorpe, Milton High School, Santa Rosa County School District
The three finalists for Assistant Principal of the Year are:
- Dustin Sims, Flagler Palm Coast High School, Flagler County School District
- William P. Roberts, Windy Hill Middle School, Lake County School District
- Nigel Pillay, Pedro Menendez High School, St. Johns County School District
