Outstanding School Volunteers Announced
Tallahassee, Fla., February 4, 2015 – Commissioner of Education Pam Stewart today announced the winners of the 2015 Outstanding School Volunteer Awards. The awards are presented annually to public school volunteers who have shown outstanding dedication and commitment to quality education in Florida.
“It is my pleasure to recognize the outstanding school volunteers throughout the state,” said Commissioner Stewart. “I am so appreciative of the countless hours they dedicate to making sure our students are successful.”
The awards are based on specific criteria relating to the type of volunteer contribution rendered, the need for the services provided by the volunteer, how students benefited from their service and the impact their service had on school improvement. In addition, volunteers are also selected based on the breadth of service and creative or unusual aspects of their volunteer service.
Each winner will receive a congratulatory letter from Commissioner Stewart and a plaque of commendation. In addition, the winners will be acknowledged in the Florida Association of Partners in Education newsletter and by their school district.
The Outstanding School Volunteer Awards recognize a student, adult and senior volunteer in each of the five reporting regions in Florida. The 2014-2015 winners are listed below.
