Filing A Complaint

The Florida Department of Education does not license, approve, accredit or regulate private schools in Florida. Section 1002.421, Florida Statutes, does require the Department of Education to establish a process by which individuals may notify the department of any violation by a parent, private school, or school district of state laws relating to scholarship program participation.

If you are aware of a violation and would like to notify the Department of Education, please complete the Complainant Statement Form (IEPC-CS1) (Word) and mail the form to:

If your complaint or violation is not directly related to scholarship program participation, you may want to report the violation to the private school’s accrediting agency or seek legal counsel.
