CDC Funded Districts in Florida
Partnering with CDC’s Division of Adolescent and School Health to Improve the Health and Well-being of Florida Students
Six Florida school districts, Broward, Duval, Hillsborough, Orange, Palm Beach and Pasco, have been awarded a five year grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Adolescent School Health, to improve the health and well-being of their students through prevention of HIV, STD and teen pregnancy. The project coordinators will partner with secondary school leadership to implement programs and practices designed to improve sexual health education (SHE), increase secondary student’s access to key sexual health services (SHS), and establish safe and supportive environments (SSE) for students. These awardees will partner closely with their county health departments, community and national organizations to meet their project goals and objectives.
