Family & Community Involvement Award

The Family and Community Involvement Award is presented annually to recognize and promote innovative school-based practices that increase family, community and school partnerships in Florida's K-12 Public Schools. School-level programs are awarded in one of two categories – Elementary (K-5) or Secondary (6-12), and evaluated on the impact of strategies that address the following:

  • Removing barriers between school and family;
  • Enhancing parenting skills;
  • Building resiliency;
  • Fostering communication between stakeholders;
  • Promoting volunteerism, mentorship and citizenship;
  • Improving student learning outcomes; and
  • Strengthening partnerships within the community.
